A doe that has a special name and a story to go with it. I went into the barn
to find her dangling off the fence. She had both front legs caught between 2
panels, just hanging there with head flopped back on her body and swollen to the
size of a watermelon, tongue out, freezing cold and lifeless. Of course, Brian
Hodes DVM, to the rescue. We knew at 3 months old, this little doe had a
“PASSION” for life. She endured daily leg bandage changing for weeks and grew up
to be a very sweet girl. Passion does have a saliva mucoele on her left cheek
that we assume was the result of her injury as a kid. So, if you catch her
grinning at you, and notice a swelling please don’t be alarmed. It’s a reminder
to us of her progress. Passion has freshened nicely and gave us a beautiful
doeling, Sahhalie Patience, in 2022. Patience was so impressive, we repeated the
breeding to Blissberry Mr. Manhattan for 2023 kids. Watch for Passion in the
ring this year, I think it’s going to be a fun year for her and her half sister,
Goatie Two Shoes Blue Moon representing their Pruittville's heritage.
